CINEMA OPEN AIR / Little Miss Sunshine

Little Miss Sunshine
Tragicomedy • US 2006 • 98 min. • FSK 6 • Directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris • English with German subtitles (original version with subtitles)
A family road trip is on the horizon, because Olive has made it to the finals of the “Little Miss Sunshine” beauty pageant. In a rickety VW bus, dreams, crises, and quirks collide—from the success-obsessed father to the silent son and a drug-addicted uncle who wants to explain the world to everyone. Amid breakdowns, arguments, and offbeat humor, something unexpected grows: a sense of togetherness. Because here, too, happiness lies in anything but perfection.
